Bayern Munich was understandably disappointed that they lost their star Robert Lewandowski this summer but quickly moved on to signing 17-year-old French striker Mathys Tel. Talented 17-year-old striker Mathys Tel is taking Bayern Munich on five upcoming summer transfers on arrival after signing Sadio Mane, Matthijs de Ligt, Ryan Gravenberh and Nussair Mazraoui, giving manager Julian Nagelsmann plenty of options for how he looks. They will become the new face of Bayern in the 2022/23 season. Bayern Munich has completed the signing of talented 17-year-old Mathys Tel from French Ligue 1 team Rennes. Bayern Munich sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic said the 17-year-old French striker Mathys Tel is “one of Europe’s greatest talents” and “there were a lot of clubs who wanted to sign him.”
Bayern Munich did not provide further details about the signing on Tuesday, but it was reported that 17-year-old French striker Mathys Tel would cost them up to 30 million euros ($30.6 million). Talented teenager Mathys Tel signed a five-year contract with Bayern Munich, which will last until the summer of 2027. The player who has ever played for Ligue 1 team, Rennes, made his debut at 16 years and 110 days. On his debut for French club Rennes against Brest in Ligue 1, in which his team drew 1-1, he was only 16 years old, making him the club’s youngest newcomer and overtaking Eduardo Camavinga.
French teenager Mathys Tel’s performances as a young man, including winning the European Under-17 Championship as France captain last month, have brought him to the attention of Europe’s biggest clubs. Young striker Mathis Tell is leaving Rennes after just seven first-team appearances, although his performance has been impressive for youth teams. Although Sadio Mane can at least look after the casuals, he’s 30, so Bayern Munich is betting almost entirely on Mathis Tel’s youth team performances to prove he can be maintained for a long time.
Tel, in his seven appearances, only played for an aggregate of 49 minutes which is significantly less to study about him at the club level. But he has performed well at the international level in his youth team. The club’s alumni complimented the 2005-born talented player as one of the best talents to have passed out from the Rennes academy. After a good display o performance in 2021, Tel signed a contract with Rennes, which would run until 2024, but they knew that it would be difficult to make him stay if other European big clubs tried to sign him. Bayern Munich is now looking to make him a part of the first team immediately, so it was difficult for Rennes to keep him.
