Top clubs battle for the Swiss phenomenon Denis Zakaria

Many European clubs are currently looking to strengthen their midfield in the January winter transfer window, and many clubs are in the race to sign a single player who they think can make an impact in their midfield. He is Denis Zakaria. The midfielder of the Bundesliga club Borussia Monchengladbach. The Swiss midfielder is hyped very much in the winter transfer window because he is out of contract at

Monchengladbach at the end of the season and earns around 60,700 euros per week as salary.
The race became tougher when Borussia Monchengladbach informed that they would need seven million euros to sell him in January. It is a fair price that any top European club can afford, and for a cheap rate, they can add a quality player to their squad.

Denis Zakaria started his professional career in Switzerland. Zakaria joined BSC Young Boys in June 2015 from Servette FC for an undisclosed fee signing a four-year contract. He made his Swiss Super League debut on 18 July 2015 against FC Zurich in a 1–1 away draw.

In June 2017, Zakaria signed a five-year contract with Borussia Monchengladbach. He was transferred as a replacement for Mahmoud Dahoud, who left the club for Borussia Dortmund. The transfer fee paid to Young Boys for Zakaria was reported as 10 million euros.

Zakaria has developed into one of the best all-round midfield players in German football since joining Gladbach from Young Boys in 2017, and he’s also a regular for the Switzerland national team with 38 caps to his name so far.

Liverpool needs to reinforce their midfield, and a versatile and energetic play breaker like Denis Zakaria would be a top addition. The 25-year-old is naturally a holding midfield star who can effectively play in the CM role as well. The Reds needs a midfielder after Wijnaldum left for PSG earlier this season. As Thiago is injured, they are in search of a midfielder.

Arsenal has been searching for a good midfielder since the winter transfer window opened. As the Premier League matches are coming very quickly, they plan to strengthen their squad to finish in the top four at the end of this season. Their main target was Juventus star Arthur Melo. But the Gunners did not accept the Old Lady’s demands. So, now they see the Swiss star as an alternative to provide what Mikel Arteta demands.

Manchester United is also being tipped to bring in another midfielder. Paul Pogba could be leaving after refusing to sign a new contract, and another midfielder, Nemanja Matic, will turn 34 this year. So, they need reinforcements in the squad.

Before the winter transfer window closes, there will be movements around the Swiss player as the clubs don’t want to regret it in the summer when some other club signs him. Also, Borussia Monchengladbach will prefer to grab some money now than let him leave for free in June.
