Confirmed lineups: RB Leipzig vs Hertha BSC

RB Leipzig would move up to second in the Bundesliga table with three points at home to Hertha BSC this afternoon.

The visitors to the Red Bull Arena have been impressive under Bruno Labbadia, winning his first game 3-0 away to 1899 Hoffenheim followed up with a 4-0 win in the Berlin derby on Friday night.

Julian Nagelsmann’s side have had a day less to rest and prepare for this game but are right places above Hertha in the league.

The two lineups for this afternoon’s game are as follows:

RB Leipzig

Peter Gulacsi; Konrad Laimer, Dayot Upamecano, Lukas Klostermann, Marcel Halstenberg; Dani Olmo, Marcel Sabitzer, Kevin Kampl, Christopher Nkunku; Patrik Schick, Timo Werner

Substitutes: Yvon Mvogo, Willi Orban, Nordi Mukiele, Angelino, Hannes Wolf, Tyler Adams, Emil Forsberg, Ademola Lookman

it looks as though the home side will be lining up in a 4-4-2 formation that may look more like a 4-2-4 when in possession. Nagelsmann has gone with both Timo Werner and Patrik Schick up front today, with Dani Olmo and Christopher Nkunku supporting down the wings.

Kevin Kampl is an attack-minded midfielder too, playing alongside Marcel Sabitzer this afternoon. The Slovakian had an influential game in the 5-0 thrashing of Mainz 05 on Saturday.

Konrad Laimer looks set to start at right-back in a back four.

Hertha BSC

Rune Jarstein; Peter Pekarik, Dedryck Boyata, Jordan Torunarigha, Marvin Plattenhardt; Marko Grujic, Per Ciljan Skjelbred; Dodi Lukebakio, Vladimir Darida, Matheus Cunha; Vedad Ibisevic

Substitutes: Dennis Smarsch, Maximilian Mittelstadt, Lukas Klunter, Arne Maier, Javairo Dilrosun, Lazar Samardzic, Jessic Ngankam, Palko Dardai, Krzysztof Piatek

Hertha Berlin are lining up in a 4-2-3-1 formation with no changes from Friday night’s thrashing of Union Berlin. Vedad Ibisevic has found some form in the two games since the restart, keeping big money signing Krzysztof Piatek among the substitutes once again. The striker will be supporting by Dodi Lukebakio and Matheus Cunha from the wings.

The experienced right-back Peter Pekarik keeps his place in the starting lineup.
