Confirmed lineups: Bayern Munich vs Eintracht Frankfurt

Bayern Munich will be looking to restore their four-point lead at the top of the Bundesliga when they host Eintracht Frankfurt this evening.

The league leaders were comfortable 2-0 winners away to Union Berlin when football in Germany restarted last weekend but didn’t create much more than the two goals they scored.

Eintracht Frankfurt were freefalling even before the disruption and were comfortably beaten 3-1 at home by Borussia Monchengladbach last weekend. Adi Hutter’s side did thrash Bayern Munich 5-1 at the Commerzbank-Arena back in November which signaled the end of Nico Kovac’s time in charge at the most successful club in the country.

The two teams for this evening’s game have been confirmed as:

Bayern Munich

Manuel Neuer; Benjamin Pavard, David Alaba, Jerome Boateng, Alphonso Davies; Joshua Kimmich; Kingsley Coman, Leon Goretzka, Thomas Muller, Ivan Perisic; Robert Lewandowski

Substitutes:  Sven Ulreich, Alvaro Odriozola, Lucas Hernandez, Lars Lukas Mai, Javi Martinez, Michael Cuisance, Oliver Batista Meier, Serge Gnabry Joshua Zirkzee

Kingsley Coman and Ivan Perisic both start today’s game after being introduced in the second half last week, giving Serge Gnabry a rest whilst Thiago Alcantara misses out through injury.

Youngsters Lars Lukas Mai and Oliver Batista Meier are included among the substitutes today.

Eintracht Frankfurt

Kevin Trapp; Almamy Toure, Stefan Ilsanker, Martin Hinteregger, Evan Ndicka; Sebastian Rode, Gelson Fernandes; Danny da Costa, Mijat Gacinovc, Filip Kostic; Andre Silva

Substitutes: Frederik Rønnow, Timmy Chandler, Erik Durm, Makoto Hasabe, Daichi Kamada, Jonathan de Guzman, Lucas Torro, Djibril Sow, Bas Dost

Andre Silva’s performance after coming on last weekend as earned the Portuguese striker a place in the starting lineup as Bas Dost drops to the bench. However much supply he will get remains to be seen but Filip Kostic down the left wing is the most likely provider.

Former Bayern Munich midfielder Sebastian Rode faces his former club as he partners Gelson Fernandes in front of the back four in which the duo can expect to be chasing the ball for much of the match.
