Austrian Bundesliga champions RB Salzburg currently own one of the hottest properties in Europe.
19-year-old striker Erling Haaland is one of the most sought after players in world football right now, having scored an incredible 28 goals in only 22 games in all competitions already this season.
The two-time Norwegian international netted an impressive eight goals in his first five UEFA Champions League group stage matches before being held out by Liverpool earlier this month. However, Die Mozartstädter had to settle for third place and the Europa League for the second half of the season.
Erling Haaland may not be a part of that Europa League campaign as he is widely-expected to leave the Red Bull Arena when the transfer market opens next month.
The teenager has been strongly linked with English Premier League giants Manchester United, as well as Bundesliga duo Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig.
A move from RB Salzburg to the current German Bundesliga leaders and sister club, RB Leipzig, would make perfect sense. And RB Leipzig sporting director, Markus Krösche, has done all he can to attract the hot property to his club. Krösche now believes it’s up to the player to choose his destination, as quoted in Südkurier:
“We have shown what we can offer him and what part he could play in our team. It’s now up to him.”
The club’s head coach, Julian Nagelsmann, confirmed last week that he has already met with Erling Haaland and his agent.
It is understood that the striker has a release clause that would allow him to leave his current club for a mere €20 million in January.
