Borussia Mönchengladbach have completed the signing of France under-21 forward Marcus Thuram from Guingamp.
The 21-year-old has signed a four-year deal at Borussia Park until 30 June 2023.
Thuram was born in Parma, Italy when his famous father, Lilian Thuram played for the Serie A side. However, the youngster came through the youth ranks at Sochaux in France before moving to Guingamp in 2017; moving from the second tier to the top.
Gladbach sporting director Max Eberl was thrilled with the Foals’ latest signing:
“We’re thrilled to have Marcus on board. He is a fast, robust and dangerous attacker who fits into our squad well. We’re confident that he will make his mark in the Bundesliga.”
Marcus Thuram made a total of 38 appearances in all competitions for Guingamp last season, scoring 13 goals. He was also part of the France U21 squad at the recent European Under-21 Championships in Italy & San Marino.
The forward offers pace and power down the left flank and has shown an eye for goal over the past 12 months having previously struggled to find the back of the net.
