Eintracht Frankfurt have completed the signing of Djibril Sow from Young Boys of Bern.
The 22-year-old has signed a five-year deal at the Commerzbank-Arena until 30 June 2024.
Sow previously came through the youth academy of Borussia Mönchengladbach making one Bundesliga appearance for Die Fohlen during the 2016-17 campaign before returning to his homeland in 2017.
The Switzerland international was a key figure in the Young Boys midfield as he won the Swiss Super League in both seasons with the club.
Eintracht board member Fredi Bobic is convinced the club’s new signing has the ability to thrive in Germany, telling the club’s official website:
“Djibril Sow is a player who has caught the eye on the international stage recently. He was highly sought-after, which makes it all the more pleasing that he chose to come to Eintracht Frankfurt. We’re absolutely convinced of his ability to perform and his potential to develop further. His technical, strategic and athletic abilities will strengthen us.”
Djibril Sow is an energetic and combative central midfielder. He is good at breaking up the opposition’s possession to start attacks for his own side. Sow started all six of Young Boys’ UEFA Champions League matches last season. He has four caps for the Swiss national team.
