Schalke 04 have signed former Hertha Berlin attacking midfielder Raffael on loan following a bunch of injuries.
The Brazilian joins the Gelsenkirchen side for the remainder of the season from Ukrainian Premier League side Dynamo Kyiv.
Raffael had a four-year spell in Germany with Hertha BSC Berlin between 2008 and 2012, scoring 33 goals in 140 games.
Sporting director Horst Heldt explained:
“We’re very pleased that this deal has been concluded. Raffael will give us more options in attack and won’t need any extra time to settle in, since he has already spent four years playing in Germany.”
Raffael experienced highs and lows in the capital, finishing fourth in 2009 before being relegated in both 2010 and 2012.
