1899 Hoffenheim striker Chinedu Obasi is set to play the second half of the 2011/12 Bundesliga season in a Schalke 04 shirt following an agreed loan move today with a view to making the move permanent at the end of the season.
Chinedu Obasi moved to Germany in 2007 joining 1899 Hoffenheim where he has spent the past four and a half seasons. The 25-year old Nigerian who was signed from Norwegian side Lyn Oslo was part of the promotion-winning side that lead Hoffenheim into the Bundesliga for the first time in their history in 2008.
The Hoffenheim striker has scored 13 goals in 65 Bundesliga games.
Schalke 04 manager Horst Heldt had the following praise to give to their latest acquisition:
“He’s a quick and versatile attacking player. On top of that he’s also eligible to play for us in the Europa League.”
Chinedu Obasi represented his country at the 2010 World Cup.
