Schalke 04 and Hannover 96 were handed kind draws in the draw for the last 32 of the Europa League on Friday.
DFB Cup winners Schalke have been drawn against Czech Republic champions Viktoria Plzen after winning their group, concluding with a 3vs0 victory against Maccabi Haifa on Thursday.
Hannover 96 were drawn against Belgian side Club Brugge, after Mirko Slomka’s side beat Vorskla Poltava 3vs1 in their final group game on Thursday evening.
The draw for the round of 16 was also made in Switzerland on Friday. Should Schalke 04 progress from their first knockout game they would face either FC Twente or Steaua Bucharest, whilst Hannover will face either Standard Liege or Wisla Krakow if they can beat their Belgium opposition.
The first legs of the round of 32 will take place on 16 February 2012, with the second leg taking place the following Thursday.
