Bastian Schweinsteiger’s recovery from a broken collarbone is off to a positive start. Following a successful operation the Bayern Munich midfielder has said that he is finally pain free for the first time since the incident on 2 November against Napoli in the Champions League.
During a television appearance on Monday, the Germany international was optimistic about making a speedy return to action.
He had the following words to say:
“I’m actually feeling quite good right now. I’m not in any sort of pain any more. The doctor did a lot of good work during the operation. Now we just have wait a little bit for the bones to reattach themselves.”
However, there is still a long road to recovery from the Bavarians vice-captain, who admitted he is no way near being able to drive a car, or even tying his own shoelaces just yet.
Bayern Munich face reigning champions Borussia Dortmund on Saturday.
