FC Schalke 04 goalkeeper Ralf Fährmann is set to face a lengthy spell on the sideline after he suffered a serious knee injury in Saturday’s 2-1 defeat by 1. FC Kaiserslautern.
Fährmann’s injury was picked up in a challenge with Kaiserslautern striker Dorge Kouemaha that resulted in the 23-year old goalkeeper conceding a penalty and receiving a red card as well as cruciate ligament damage and a strain.
The Schalke 04 goalkeeper has consulted a team of knee specialists in order to assess the forms of treatment he may undergo.
