The Deutsche Fußball Liga (DFL) has refused Hamburger SV’s request to grant them permission to keep Rodolfo Esteban Cardoso on as their temporary head coach.
The DFL ruled under no circumstances may Cardoso’s 15-day permit be extender. Hamburger SV have the option to appeal the decision with the next week.
Cardoso had taken over at the Imtech Arena after Michael Oenning was sacked last month.
The League Association rules state coaches must possess, or be in the process of obtaining a relevant coaching license in order to fill a vacant head coach position.
Hamburger SV travel to SC Freiburg on Sunday 16 October after the international break.
